John Tomaszewski is a Vice President at NaviAsia Consulting Group. He has over 12 years combined experience in consulting and industry. Some of John’s emphases are in strategy, merger and acquisitions, operations, supply chain,strategic sourcing, and organizational transformation. His prior experience includes managing engagements at A.T. Kearney, Inc. and BP Amoco.
Some examples of his relevant business experience to China ventures are:
  • Conducted chemical and refinery economics to assist BP Amoco to enter the China market
  • Chinese natural gas joint venture financial and administrative management
  • Developed market entry strategy utilizing a JV model in Latin America and China
  • Strategic sourcing of automotive parts to China and Chinese supplier evaluation resulting in average savings range from 35-60%

In addition, John has abundant experience in other emerging markets, such as Mexico, Romania, and Poland.
 

George Wu is a Vice President at NaviAsia Consulting Group, leading NaviAsia and NaviAsia Supply Chain Support Group's (SCSG) Asia operations. He has over 12 years of management consulting and industrial experience in China and U.S. George's expertise lies in the strategic planning and implementation of China related initiatives, which includes but is not limited to market entry, strategic sourcing and supply chain management. Prior to joining NaviAsia, George held various positions at Chentao International Consulting Company, Ford, Owens Corning, and A.T. Kearney, Inc.
George's key experiences in China ventures are:

  • Conducted supplier screening and set up long-term supply base for more than 20 U.S./European companies, managing new product development and production, supplier development, cost structure improvement and logistic optimization. Product categories covered include: injection molding, metal fabrication, industrial and consumable electronics and specialty chemicals
  • Assisted over 10 U.S. companies for China market entry. Industry examples include: construction material, consumer product, mining/transportation equipment and telecommunication equipment
  • Conducted joint venture partner screening and acquisition target identification for more than 15 U.S./Chinese companies, assisting clients in deal structuring and negotiations
  • Assisted clients to establish extensive business networks in China, gaining government support on IP protection, obtaining favorable tax benefits, and building strong mutual trust

As a native of Beijing, George's broad personal and business connections ( guanxi ) in China with central and local government provide additional benefits and assurances for successful implementation in China .

 

 

Bill Liu is a Vice President at NaviAsia Consulting Group. Bill has more than 15 years of combined experience in consulting and industry. He specializes in strategy, marketing, and operations management, with a focus on international business.

Prior to joining NaviAsia, Bill worked for Lucent Technologies, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Waste Management, Inc.

Bill received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University, and earned a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

  • In his current position, Bill advises U.S. companies on how to more efficiently achieve their marketing and manufacturing goals in China. He has helped clients with China strategic sourcing in the chemical, plastics and electronics industries. Specifically, he enabled a consumer goods company to establish its manufacturing base in China, and designed a chemical company's China market-entry strategy.

  • Bill led Lucent Technologies' successful international eBusiness operations in both Asia and Canada. He also managed the sales and marketing program for Lucent's JV plant in China.

  • Bill serves and has served on a number of China-related advisory boards, including; the City of Chicago's China Committee, and the Harbin Exchange. He is also the co-Executive Director of the One China Committee, and a committee member of the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations' west chapter.

  • A frequent guest lecturer for Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business, Bill was a keynote speaker at Kellogg's 2005 Asian Business Conference. Bill is also heavily involved with the Kellogg Alumni Club of Chicago (KACC). He is the founder of the KACC's Asia/Pacific Committee, and founder and chairman of the KACC's Western Chapter. He is a current board member of KACC.

Bill has lectured about China for a variety of corporations and events that include; 53 Bank, Harris Bank, Ungaretti & Harris, the Commercial Development and Marketing Association (CDMA), and the Measurement Control and Automation Association.

 

 

Charles Li is a Vice President at NaviAsia Consulting Group. He has over 8 years combined experience in consulting and industry in the U.S and Greater China. Charles’ emphasis is in business strategy of high tech/telecommunication industry. His prior experience includes McKinsey & Company, Morgan Stanley and Dell Computer.
Some examples of his relevant business experience to China ventures are:

  • Created market entry strategy and performed due diligence for a U.S. financial service company to select potential joint venture partners in China
  • Led joint engineering product development teams for Dell Computer in the U.S. and Taiwan
  • Conducted comprehensive high-tech industry research for Greater China at Morgan Stanley

In addition, Charles has personal and business relationships in Shanghai and Jiangsu province.
